The Lost or Long Forgotten Concept 2

This post is a continuation of “The Lost or Long Forgotten Concept?” Again, there are a few thing to keep in mind when viewing these concept drawings:

1) These drawing were meant for me and me alone, because of this you will find out really quickly that my spelling skills stink.  Please try to ignore the bad spelling.
2) Most of these idea’s were never built or tested. They are just that, ideas based on what I knew at the time.
3) I only used Alesis modules (DM5, DMPro) at the time of these idea’s so you won’t see any piezo/switch type electronic drum triggers that’s used with Roland or Yamaha drum modules. That’s not to say they won’t work with Roland or Yamaha, because they most likely will. I just want people to understand my mind set at the time of these idea’s.

Single Zone Cymbal Trigger

This concept drawing does show how I made my cymbal triggers about 9-10 years ago.  I still use one of these type of cymbal triggers as a back-up.  I stopped making them this way because it takes some time to “graft” the project box top into the practice cymbal.  The biggest benefit to this design is the project box never breaks off. I made these type of cymbal triggers up through the eDrum Set #5 period. (see Gallery)

Dual Zone Ride Cymbal Trigger

I never made this trigger.  The reason is, at some point I switched from Alesis modules to a Roland TD-8.  When I did this, I bought Roland CY-6 cymbal triggers. They are dual zone so, I didn’t see any reason to build this concept.  I can say, know  that I have seen this drawing again, I realize that this would be a good idea for the Alesis Trigger I/O.  Something tells me that I will be building this concept soon….
