Alesis DM Dock Available (with Free DM Touch app)

Its been a long time coming. First jokingly announced (speculation) by Hellfire at DMdrummer.com back in February 2011 (see Super Secret Alesis DMdock drum module?) and actually announced by Alesis in January 2012 (see Dm Dock? Hellfire was right). It is now available for purchase. The DMdock basically adds drum trigger I/O to an iPad. Alesis also announced the DMtouch app (which is free to anyone with an iPad from the iTunes store) which is the drum sound software for the iPad. 

The good news is, you don’t need a DMdock to use the DMtouch application. As long as you have a way of getting midi to your iPad you too can use the DMtouch application. Here’s a video of a drummer using an Alesis I/O dock (not to be confused with the DMdock) and using a medeli drum module for his trigger interface:
